Ordu 1962 doğumluyum. İlk ve orta dereceli eğitimimi Samsun Atatürk İlkokulu ve Samsun Anadolu Lisesi’nde 1980 yılında tamamladım. Hacettepe Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’ndeki Lisans eğitimimi 1980-85 yılları arasında aldım ve mezuniyet sonrası yine Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü’nde Periodontoloji Doktora programını 1985-89 yılları arasında “Periodontitisli bireylerde flap operasyonu öncesi ve sonrası subgingival flora morfotipleri ile klinik parametrelerin karşılaştırılması” konulu tez ile bitirdim. Konya Selçuk Üniversitesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Periodontoloji Anabilim Dalı’nda Yardımcı Doçent kadrosuna 1990 yılında atandım. Askerlik görevimi 1993 yılında Gülhane Askeri Tıp Akademisinde bedelli olarak yaptım. Yaklaşık bir yıl sonra, 14 Ekim 1994 tarihinde Doçent oldum, 2001 yılında Profesör kadrosuna atandım. Selçuk Üniversitesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’nde 2004-2010 yılları arasında iki dönem Fakülte Dekanlığı, Periodontoloji Anabilim Dalı Başkanlığı, Fakülte Kurulu ve Fakülte Yönetim Kurulu üyelikleri, Üniversite Senato üyeliği, Üniversite Döner Sermaye Yürütme Kurulu üyeliği, Fakülte Dergisi Editörlüğü görevlerinde bulundum. Konya Diş Hekimleri Odası’nda iki dönem Yönetim Kurulu üyeliği yaptım. Halen İstanbul Diş Hekimleri Odası ve Türk Diş Hekimleri Birliği, Türk Periodontoloji Derneği, European Federation of Periodontology derneklerinde üyeyim. Selçuk Üniversitesi’nden 2019 yılında emekli oldum. Aynı yıl İstanbul Medipol Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’nde göreve başladım, yaklaşık 1,5 yıl çalışma sonrası Nisan 2021’den günümüze değin İstinye Üniversitesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Periodontoloji Anabilim Dalı’nda görev yapmaktayım.
